Colors of Bent
Hotel Bent is located in a Natura 2000 area. We are located opposite the Van Esschenven, one of the most beautiful fens of Kampina & Oisterwijkse fens, we strive to make our hotel blend into the natural environment as much as possible. Besides the choice of materials, restoring biodiversity, the trees we put back, we found the color choice essential. Therefore, we made a detailed color analysis of Het Esschenven. Colors of Bent
In collaboration with a forester and with the permission of Natuurmonumenten, we collected the most characteristic leaves, bark, plants, flowers and fruits from the forest for our color research. With this we have built an archive of plant pigments. The process of extracting colors from the plants involves boiling down the natural materials until a draught is formed, which is then dried into pigment powders.
Below is a small impression of our color archive, which served as inspiration for Hotel Bent.
